•Problem:Aftersettingaharddiskpasswordontheharddiskdriveofthecomputer,youmovedthedrive
toanothercomputer.Nowyoucannotunlocktheharddiskpassword.
Solution:Yourcomputersupportsanenhancedpasswordalgorithm.Computersolderthanyoursmay
notsupportsuchasecurityfunction.

Problem:WhenyoucompresslesorfoldersbyuseofthedatacompressionfunctioninWindows,andthen
decompressthem,theprocessofwritingtoorreadingfromthelesorfoldersisslow.

forinstallingthedrive,ensurethattheoptionisrmlyconnectedtothecomputerandworksproperly.
Ensurethatthedrivetrayisrmlyclosed.
Ensurethatthedevicedriversarecorrectlyinstalled.
•Problem:YouhearanoisefromthedrivewhentheCD,DVD,orCD-RWisspinning.
Solution:Ifthediscisnotproperlyloadedonthecenterpivotofthedrive,itmayrubagainstthedrive
coverandmakeanoise.Ensurethatthediscisloadedproperlyinthedrive.
•Problem:Thedisctrayoftheopticaldrivedoesnotcomeoutatoncewhenyoupresstheejectbutton.
Solution:Theemptydisctraymaynotcomeoutasquicklyasyouexpect,butthedelayisnormal.When
nodiscisintheopticaldrive,thedriveisautomaticallyturnedofftosaveenergy.Then,whenyoupress
theejectbutton,ittakesalittlewhiletoturnontheopticaldriveandpulloutthedisctray.Ifyouneedto
pulloutthetrayimmediately,presstheejectbuttonagain.
•Problem:Thetraydoesnotopenevenifyoupresstheejectbutton.
Solution:Whenyourcomputerisnotturnedon,pressingtheejectbuttondoesnotcausethedrivetray
toopen.Ensurethatthecomputeristurnedonandthatthedriveconnectorisrmlyconnectedtothe
computer.
Ifthetraystilldoesnotopen,ensurethatthecomputerisrunning,andinserttheendofastraightened
paperclipintotheemergencyejecthole.Thetraywillopen.
•Problem:Anopticalmedium,suchasaCD,aDVD,oraCD-RW,cannotberead.
Solution:Ensurethatthediscisnotdirty.Ifitis,cleanitwithacleanerkit.
Testanotherdisc.Ifthecomputercanreadtheotherdisc,therstonemightbedefective.
Ensurethatthediscisloadedonthecenterpivotofthedrivewiththelabelsideup.(Youshouldheara
click.)
