8.IntheEnterNewPasswordeld,typeadesiredpassword,andpressEnter.

thepassword,followsteps1through7.Typeyourcurrentpassword.WhentheEnterNewPasswordeld
isdisplayed,leaveitblankandpressEntertwice.
Harddiskpasswords
Twotypesofharddiskpasswordshelpprotecttheinformationstoredontheharddiskdrive:
Userharddiskpassword
Masterharddiskpassword,whichrequiresauserharddiskpassword
Ifauserharddiskpasswordhasbeenset,butnomasterharddiskpasswordhasbeen,theusermustenter
theuserharddiskpasswordinordertogainaccesstolesandprogramsontheharddiskdrive.
Themasterpasswordcanbesetandusedonlybyasystemadministrator.Likeamasterkey,itenablesthe
administratortogetaccesstoanyharddiskdriveinasystem.Theadministratorsetsthemasterpassword;
nooneelseknowsit.Thentheadministratorsetsauserpasswordforeachcomputerinthenetwork,and
tellseachuserthepasswordforhisorhercomputer.Theusercanthenchangetheuserpasswordas
desired,buttheadministratorstillcangetaccessbyusingthemasterpassword.
