Chargingthebattery
Itisrecommendedthatyouchargethebatteryorreplaceitwithachargedbatteryonanyofthefollowing
conditions:
•Thepercentageofbatterypowerremainingislow.
•Thepoweralarmalertsyouthattheremainingpowerislow.
Maximizingthebatterylife
Tomaximizethebatterylife,dothefollowing:
•Usethebatteryuntilthechargeisdepleted;thatis,usethebatteryuntilthebatterystatusindicator
startsblinkingorange.
•Fullyrechargethebatterybeforeusingit.Thebatteryisfullychargedifthebatteryindicatorshowssolid
greenwhentheacpoweradapterispluggedin.
•Alwaysusepowermanagementfeaturessuchaspowermodes,sleep,andhibernation.
Power-savingmodes
Thereareseveralmodesthatyoucanusetoconservepower.
Sleepmode
Ifyouarenotgoingtousethecomputerforashorttime,putthecomputerintosleepmode.Thishelps
youconservepower,butalsoprovidesyoutheconveniencetobypassthestartupprocessanddirectly
resumethecomputerfornormaloperation.
Toputthecomputerintosleepmode,dooneofthefollowing:
•Windows7:
1.ClickStart.
2.ClickthetrianglemarknexttotheShutdownbutton,andthenselectSleep.
Windows8:
1.Movethecursortothetop-rightorbottom-rightcornerofthescreentodisplaythecharms.
2.ClickSettings.
3.SelectSleepfromthePowermenuoptions.
•PressFn+F1.
Attention:Donotmovethecomputerwhileitisenteringsleepmode.Duringthisperiod,theharddisk
driveisspinning.Movingthecomputerwhiletheharddiskdriveisspinningcandamagetheharddisk
drive,causinglossofdata.
Towakeupthecomputer,dooneofthefollowing:
•Pressthepowerbutton.
•PresstheFnkeyonthekeyboard.
