Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother
computerforreference.
Note:UseanydocumentationthatcomeswiththesystemboardRAID5keyandfollowthoseinstructionsin
additiontotheinstructionsinthistopic.
ToinstallthesystemboardRAID5key,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage85.
3.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
4.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthesystemboardRAID5keytoanyunpainted
surfaceontheoutsideoftheserver.Then,takethesystemboardRAID5keyoutofthepackage.
5.LocatetheiButtonsocketonthesystemboard.InsertonesideofthesystemboardRAID5keyunder
oneoftheretainingclipsontheiButtonsocket.Then,carefullypresstheothersideofthesystem
boardRAID5keystraightdownuntilthekeysnapsintopositionandissecuredbythetworetaining
clipsontheiButtonsocket.
Note:Ifnecessary,removeanypartsordisconnectanycablesthatmightimpedeyouroperation.
