Checkingthebattery

ThissystemsupportsonlybatteriesspeciallydesignedforthisspeciﬁcsystemandmanufacturedbyLenovo

oranauthorizedbuilder.Thesystemdoesnotsupportunauthorizedbatteriesorbatteriesdesignedforother

systems.Ifanunauthorizedbatteryorabatterydesignedforanothersystemsisinstalled,thesystemwill

notcharge.

Attention:Lenovohasnoresponsibilityfortheperformanceorsafetyofunauthorizedbatteries,and

providesnowarrantiesforfailuresordamagearisingoutoftheiruse.

Tocheckthepercentageofbatterypowerremainingorthebatterychargingstatus,clickthebatterystatus

iconintheWindows

notiﬁcationarea.Tocheckfordetailedbatterystatusinformation,dothefollowing:

•ForWindows7:Double-clickthebatterygaugeiconintherightsideofthetaskbartoopenthePower

ManagerprogramandthenclicktheBatterytab.

•ForWindows8.1:OpentheLenovoSupportprogramandclickBatteryHealth,oropentheLenovo

SettingsprogramandclickPower.

Checkingtheoperationalcharging

Tocheckwhetherthebatterychargesproperlyduringoperation,dothefollowing:

1.Dischargethebatteryuntiltheremainedbatterypowerislessthan50%.

2.Performoperationalcharging.ClickthebatterystatusiconintheWindowsnotiﬁcationareatodisplay

detailedbatteryinformation.Ifitindicatesthatthebatteryisnotcharging,replacethebattery.

3.Checkthebatterystatusagain.Ifthesameerrorstillexists,replacethesystemboard.

Checkingthecoin-cellbattery

Tocheckthecoin-cellbattery,dothefollowing:

1.Disablethebuilt-inbattery.See“Disablingthebuilt-inbattery”onpage56.

2.Removethecoin-cellbattery.See“1180Systemboardassembly”onpage79.

3.Measurethevoltageofthecoin-cellbattery.Seethefollowingillustration.
