SIMcardisasmallplasticcardwithanIntegratedCircuit(IC)chipmountedononesideofthecard.
IfyourcomputerisequippedwithaSIMcardslot,yourcomputermightrequireaSIMcardtoestablish
wirelessWANconnections.Dependingonthecountryorregionofdelivery,youmightneedtopurchase
aSIMcard,oraSIMcardmightalreadybeinstalledinyourcomputerorispartoftheshippingcontents
thatcomewithyourcomputer.
ToinstallorreplacetheSIMcard,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputer;thendisconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.Wait
threetofiveminutestoletthecomputercool.
2.Closethecomputerlidandturnthecomputerover.
3.Removethebatterypack.See“Replacingthebatterypack”onpage69.
4.LocatetheSIMcardslotinsidethebatterycompartment.IftherealreadyisaSIMcardintheslot,
gentlypushtheSIMcardtoremoveitfromtheslot.
