Note:IfyouareunabletoaccesstheOneKeyRecoveryProworkspaceortheWindowsenvironment
fromarescuemediumorrecoverymedium,youmightnothavetherescuedevice(aninternalharddisk
drive,adisc,aUSBharddiskdrive,orotherexternaldevices)setastherstbootdeviceinthestartup
devicesequence.Youmustrstmakesurethatyourrescuedeviceissetastherstbootdeviceinthe
startupdevicesequenceintheBIOSprogram.GototheStartupmenu,andthenselecttheBootmenu
totemporarilyorpermanentlychangethestartupdevicesequence.
Itisimportanttocreatearescuemediumandasetofrecoverymediaasearlyaspossibleandstorethem
inasafeplaceforfutureuse.
UsingtheWindowsrecoveryprogramontheWindows8operating
system
YourcomputercomeswitharecoveryprogrampreinstalledontheWindows8operatingsystem.The
recoveryprogramenablesyoutodothefollowing:
•Refreshingyourcomputer
Thisprogramenablesyoutorestoreyourcomputertofactorydefaultsettingswhilepreservingthe
dataontheharddiskdrive.
Torefreshyourcomputer,dothefollowing:
1.Moveyourcursortothebottom-rightcornerofthescreentodisplaythecharms.ThenclickSettings
➙ChangePCsettings➙General.
2.IntheRefreshyourPCwithoutaffectingyourlessection,clickGetstarted.Thenfollowthe
on-screeninstructionstorefreshyourcomputer.
•Resettingyourcomputer
Whenyouusetherecoveryprogramtoresetyourcomputer,allthedatastoredontheharddiskdrivewill
bedeletedandthecomputerwillberestoredtothefactorydefaultsettings.
Attention:Toavoiddataloss,backupyourdatainadvance.
Toresetyourcomputer,dothefollowing:
1.Moveyourcursortothebottom-rightcornerofthescreentodisplaythecharms.ThenclickSettings
➙ChangePCsettings➙General.
2.IntheRemoveeverythingandreinstallWindowssection,clickGetstarted.Thenfollowthe
on-screeninstructionstoresetyourcomputer.
Note:Afterrestoringyourcomputertothefactorydefaultsettings,youmightneedtoreinstallthedrivers
forsomedevices.
•Advancedstartupoptions
Advancedstartupoptionsenableyoutostartupfromanexternaldriveordisc,changeyourcomputer
settings,changethestartupsettingsoftheWindowsoperatingsystem,orrestoretheWindowsoperating
systemfromasystemimage.
Tousetheadvancedstartupoption,dothefollowing:
1.Moveyourcursortothebottom-rightcornerofthescreentodisplaythecharms.ThenclickSettings

2.IntheAdvancedstartupsection,clickRestartnow➙Troubleshoot➙Advancedoptions.Then
followtheon-screeninstructionstochangethesettingsasdesired.
