1.Turnonthecomputer.
2.UseWindowsExplorerorMyComputertodisplaythedirectorystructureofyourharddiskdrive.
3.GototheC:\SWTOOLSdirectory.
4.OpentheDRIVERSfolder.WithintheDRIVERSfolder,thereareseveralsubfoldersnamedforvarious
devicesinstalledinyourcomputer,suchasAUDIOorVIDEO.
5.Opentheappropriatedevicesubfolder.
6.Dooneofthefollowing:
•Inthedevicesubfolder,lookforaREADME.txtleoralewiththe.txtextension.Thislemightbe
namedaftertheoperatingsystem,suchasWIN98.txt.TheTXTlecontainsinformationabouthowto
installthedevicedriver.Followtheinstructionstocompletetheinstallation.
•Ifthedevicesubfoldercontainsalewiththe.infextensionandyouwanttoinstallthedevice
driverusingtheINFle,clickStart➙HelpandSupporttoentertheWindowsHelpandSupport
informationsystemforthedetailedinformationabouthowtoinstallthedevicedriver.
•Inthedevicesubfolder,lookforaSETUP .EXEle.Double-clicktheleandfollowtheinstructionson
thescreen.
Settingarescuedeviceinthestartupsequence
BeforeyoustarttheRescueandRecoveryprogramfromaninternalharddiskdrive,adisc,aUSBharddisk
drive,orotherexternaldevices,youmustrstmakesurethatyourrescuedeviceissetastherstboot
deviceinthestartupdevicesequenceintheSetupUtilityprogram.Referto“Selectingastartupdevice”on
page19
fordetailedinformationabouttemporarilyorpermanentlychangingthestartupsequence.
Note:Ifyouuseanexternaldevice,youmustrstturnoffyourcomputerbeforeconnectingtheexternal
device.
