Devicedriveristheprogramthatoperatesaparticularhardwaredeviceofthecomputer.Ifadevicedoes
notperformwelloryouinstallanewdevice,youneedtoinstallorupdatethecorrespondingdevicedriver.
Forexample,ifyouusetheWindows7operatingsystem,tousetheUSB3.0connector,youneedto
downloadandinstalltheUSB3.0driver.
Todownloadthelatestdevicedrivers,dothefollowing:
1.Gotohttp://www.lenovo.com/ThinkPadDrivers.
2.Selectyourproductnametoviewallthedevicedriversforyourcomputer.
3.Selectthedevicedriversyouthatyouneed,andfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.
Attention:DonotdownloadthedevicedriversfromtheWindowsUpdateWeb.Alwaysdownloadthedevice
driversfrom:

UsingtheThinkPadSetupprogram
TheThinkPadSetupprogramenablesyoutoselectvarioussetupcongurationsforyourcomputerthrough
conguringtheBIOS.
ToconguretheBIOSofyourcomputer,dothefollowing:
1.Restartthecomputer.WhentheThinkPadlogoisdisplayed,pressF1.TheThinkPadSetupprogram
starts.
Note:Ifyouarerequiredtoenterthesupervisorpassword,enterthecorrectpassword.Youalsocan
pressEntertoskipthepasswordpromptandstarttheThinkPadSetupprogram.Ifyoudonotenterthe
password,youcannotchangethecongurationsthatareprotectedbythesupervisorpassword.For
moreinformation,referto“Usingpasswords”onpage43.
2.Usethecursorkeystoselectatab;orusethecursorkeystolocateanitemandpressEntertoselectit.
