Youcanconnecttwotoeightstoragearraystoaserverthroughcascadingmode.Theprocedurefor
connectingmorethanonestoragearraystoaservercanbedividedintotwoparts:
1.Connectastoragearraytoaserver.
2.Connectthestoragearraystoeachother.
Note:Eachmini-SASconnectorontheRAIDcardorontheHostBusAdapterinstalledinthetargetserver
cansupportuptofourstoragearrays.
Toconnecttwotoeightstoragearraystoaserver,dothefollowing:
1.Connectastoragearraytoaserver.See“Connectingastoragearraytoaserver”onpage19.
2.Dothefollowingtoconnectonestoragearraytoanother:
a.Connectoneendofamini-SASsignalcabletotheSAS-outconnectoronarearI/Omodule(for
example,rearI/Omodule1)ofastoragearray.
b.Connecttheotherendofthemini-SASsignalcabletotheSAS-inconnectoronthecorresponding
rearI/Omodule(forexample,rearI/Omodule1)ofanotherstoragearray.
c.ForstoragearrayswithtworearI/Omodules,youcanrepeatstepaandstepbtoconnecta
mini-SASsignalcabletothesecondaryrearI/Omodules(forexample,rearI/Omodule2).
Note:ConnectingthestoragearraystoeachotherthroughtworearI/Omodulesprovides
redundancy,whichhelpsavoidsignificantinterruptiontotheconnectionofthestoragearrayswhen
arearI/Omodulefails.
