Performoperationalcharging.Ifthebatterystatusindicatororicondoesnotturnon,replacethebatterypack.

Ifthechargeindicatorstilldoesnotturnon,replacethesystemboard.Thenreinstallthebatterypack.Ifitis

stillnotcharged,gotothenextsection.

Checkingthebatterypack

BatterychargingdoesnotstartuntilthePowerManagerbatterygaugeshowsthatlessthan96%ofthetotal

powerremains;underthisconditionthebatterypackcanchargeto100%ofitscapacity.Thisprotectsthe

batterypackfrombeingoverchargedorfromhavingashortenedlife.

Tocheckyourbattery,moveyourcursortothePowerManagerbatterygaugeiconintheicontrayofthe

Windowstaskbarandwaitforamoment(butdonotclick),andthepercentageofbatterypowerremaining

isdisplayed.Togetdetailedinformationaboutthebattery,double-clickthePowerManagerBattery

Gaugeicon.

Checkingthebackupbattery

Tocheckthebackupbattery,dothefollowing:

1.Disablethebuilt-inbattery.See“DisablingthebatterypackintheUEFIBIOS”onpage58.

2.Removethebackupbattery(see“1080Backupbattery”onpage71).

3.Measurethevoltageofthebackupbattery.Seethefollowinggure.
