Beforeservicingthecomputer
Carefullyreadthistopicbeforeservicingthecomputer.
DisablingthebatterypackintheUEFIBIOS
BeforereplacinganyFRU,ensurethatyouhavedisabledthebuilt-inbatterybydoingthefollowing:
1.T urnoffthecomputer.Disconnecttheacpoweradapterandallthecablesfromthecomputer.
2.T urnonthecomputer.WhentheThinkPadlogoisdisplayed,pressF1toentertheThinkPadSetup
program.
3.SelectCong➙Power.ThePowersubmenuisdisplayed.
4.SelectDisablebuilt-inbattery.
5.ClickYesintheSetupWarningwindow,thenthecomputerwillbeturnedoffautomatically.Waitfor
threetoveminutestoletthecomputercool.
Note:AfterthebatterypackisdisabledintheUEFIBIOS,itwillbeautomaticallyenabledwhenacpoweris
reconnected.
RemovingtheSIMcard
SomemodelsyouareservicingmighthavetheSIMcardthatthecustomerhasinstalled.Ifthecomputeryou
areservicinghastheSIMcardinstalled,removeitbeforeyoustarttheservicing.
