Youcanattachamechanicallocktoyourcomputer,tohelppreventitfrombeingremovedwithoutyour
permission.
Attachamechanicallocktothekeyholeofthecomputer;thensecurethechainonthelocktoastationary

Usingpasswords
Byusingpasswords,youcanhelppreventyourcomputerfrombeingusedbyothers.Onceyouseta
password,apromptisdisplayedonthescreeneachtimeyouturnonthecomputer.Enteryourpasswordat
theprompt.Youcannotusethecomputerunlessyoutypethecorrectpassword.
Passwordsandsleepmode
Ifyouhavesetpasswordsandyouputyourcomputerintosleepmode,theprocedureforresuming
operationisasfollows:
•Youarenotpromptedtotypethepasswordwhenresumingoperation.
•Ifanyharddiskdriveorsolidstatedrivehasapassword,itisunlockedautomaticallywhenyouresume
operation.
Note:IfaWindowspasswordhasbeenset,youwillbepromptedtoenterit.
