Puttingyourcomputerintosleepmode
Ifyouwillbeawayfromyourcomputerforashorttime,putthecomputerintosleepmode.Whenthe
computerisinsleepmode,youcanquicklywakeituptoresumeuseandbypassthestartupprocess.
Toputthecomputerintosleepmode,doeitherofthefollowing:
•FortheWindows7operatingsystem:
–ClickStart➙Shutdown.
–SelectSleepfromtheshutdownoption.
FortheWindows8operatingsystem:
1.Moveyourcursortothebottom-rightcornerofthescreentodisplaythecharms.
2.ClickSettings.
3.SelectSleepfromthePowershutdownoption.
•PressFn+F1.
Note:Waituntilthepowerindicatorstartsblinking(indicatingthatthecomputerisinsleepstate)before
youmovethecomputer.Movingthecomputerwhiletheharddiskdriveisspinningcandamagethe
harddiskdrive,causinglossofdata.
Towakeupthecomputer,doeitherofthefollowing:
•Pressthepowerbutton.
•PresstheFnkeyonthekeyboard.
Shuttingdownthecomputer
Ifyouarenotgoingtousethecomputerforadayortwo,shutitdown.
