Beforeyoustart,printtheseinstructions.
YoucanreplacetheharddiskdrivewithanewonewhichcanbepurchasedfromyourLenovoreseller
oramarketingrepresentative.
Prerequisitesfortheprocedure
Attention:Theharddiskdriveisverysensitive.Incorrecthandlingcancausedamageandpermanentloss
ofdata.Observethefollowingguidelines:
•Replacetheharddiskdriveonlyifyouupgradeitorhaveitrepaired.Theconnectorsandslotofthehard
diskdrivearenotdesignedforfrequentchanges,ordriveswapping.
•Donotdropthedriveorsubjectittophysicalshocks.Putthedriveonamaterial,suchassoftcloth,that
absorbsthephysicalshock.
•Donotapplypressuretothecoverofthedrive.
•Donottouchtheconnector.
•Beforeremovingtheharddiskdrive,makeabackupcopyofalltheinformationonit,andthenturn
thecomputeroff.
•Neverremovethedrivewhilethecomputerisoperating,insleepmode,orinhibernationmode.
Toreplacetheharddiskdrive,refertotheinstructionsforthecomputer:
•“LenovoB475e”onpage39
•“LenovoB575e”onpage41

Toreplacetheharddiskdrive,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputer;thendisconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.Wait
threetoveminutestoletthecomputercool.
2.Closethecomputerdisplay,andturnthecomputerover.
3.Removethebattery.See“Replacingthebattery”onpage35.
